We are delighted that our colleague and Editorial Collective member—Nahum Chandler—and his family—his wife Ayumi and their son Aaron—are doing fine. Residents of Kyoto, Japan, the family lives approximately 360 miles, or 580 kilometers, from the epicenter of the tsunami that wreaked so much devastation in Sendai, at whose Tohoku University Professor Chandler used to teach. Our prayers and best wishes go out to the Japanese people.
We wish to remind our Nashville readers that a candlelight vigil to commemorate the victims of the tsunami is planned for Friday evening, 6pm, 18 March 2011, at Benton Chapel on Vanderbilt’s campus. For more information, see the Vanderbilt homepage, www.Vanderbilt.Edu.
