PLEASE SUPPORT The Feminist Wire

We NEED (at least) 100 feminists to do one thing…

One-hundred $20 donations secures a sustainable future for TFW. It helps pay for our technical infrastructure, including subscriptions to Submittable and BlueHost.

If you’ve benefited from reading TFW, once or every day, here’s why YOU should give:

1. We labor in love. Our collective is comprised of incredible writers, thinkers, activists, and artists. All are unpaid, and we’ve been using our own personal funds to keep TFW going.

2. We believe that making space for ideas largely missing from the cultural conversation is critical work.

3. We cultivate the next generation of voices. Since our founding, we have published hundreds of first time writers and burgeoning girl feminists, alongside luminaries including Angela Y. Davis and bell hooks.

4. We put ideas into practice. TFW supports the work of community organizations and praxis projects.

Please visit our DONATE BUTTON (on the top left hand corner of the home page of our site) to make your $20 donation to secure essential tools for TFW’s future.

All of us at TFW want to use our talents and skills in service to our readers and our contributors who are committed to compassionate, radical social change. We believe in the power of love and in publicly honoring those who support us. Look for a personal and collective “Love Note” to YOU when you make your donation.

PLEASE USE THE DONATE BUTTON, which is located on the top left hand corner of The Feminist Wire’s homepage!

Paws   In sixth grade, I started to envy certain girls’ hands. Not always manicured, but always neat. Fingers thin and smooth. These hands gently freed sheets of paper from their metal spirals and lifted loops of hair to more beautiful perches. Lunch trays floated inside their gentle grip while [...]
