3 poems by Mary Tres

“Pocket Change”

The gap between my thighs

Is less than equivalent

To that between our pay.

“Caution: Hard (Hat) Area”

Your only power lies in the fact

That you can fill a hole.

Luckily for you a construction agency is hiring.

“Bid Adieu”

I wish I would’ve aborted you

Instead of this baby.

I would’ve made a great mother.
