Congressional Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Congressional Staff Association to Hold Pride Month Policy Panel: “Beyond DOMA: What’s Next for LGBT Equality?”

In recognition of Pride Month, the Congressional Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Congressional Staff Association (LGBT CSA) will hold a special policy panel entitled: “Beyond DOMA: What’s Next for LGBT Equality?” on  Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gabe Zimmerman Room, HVC-215 at the Capitol Visitor Center.

The panel will focus on  issues of importance to the LGBT congressional community and the gay community at-large and will be moderated by former Congressman Jim Kolbe and feature a panel of leading LGBT policy advocates.  This panel offers a unique opportunity to engage on issues of importance to the LGBT community and discuss the differing and sometimes opposing strategies in reaching the common goals of equal treatment and opportunity.

Participants include:  Jim Kolbe, Former U.S. Congressman, State of Arizona; Wade Davis, Jr., Former NFL Football Player and LGBTQ Youth Advocate; Darnell L. Moore, TFW Editorial Collective Member, writer, and activist; Maya Rupert, Policy Director, National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR); Jimmy LaSalvia, Co-Founder and Executive Director, GOProud; Mara Keisling, Founding Executive Director, National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)
