Why HPV Vaccination Of Boys May Be Easier

When the CDC recommended pre-teen and teen girls get vaccinated against the human papillomavirus (HPV), a wave of outrage was voiced. Only 1/3 of girls and young women have received the 3 rounds of shots required for immunization to be effective. Because HPV runs the risk of causing several types of cancer, not just those specific to women, the CDC has since recommended adolescent males to be vaccinated. Studies have shown the social taboo towards the vaccine has decreased as boys and male teens are being immunized to prevent spreading HPV to future partners, and protecting themselves from a number of cancers.
