Court asked to block new Arizona abortion law

The Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence and ACLU of Arizona are asking the federal court to prevent a new state abortion law from going into effect at the end of the year which would stop tax credits to individuals and couples making donations to organizations which “provide, pay for, promote, provide coverage of or provide referrals for abortions.” House Bill 2384, or the Working Poor Tax Credit Program, seeks to eliminate the tax credit of $200 for an individual (or $400 for a couple) earned by making donations to state organizations. Arizona is the first state to “address abortion through tax code in this way.”
