New York Time’s Helen Cooper reported today that black voters largely remain firmly in support of Barak Obama’s re-election—all of this despite Cornell West and Tavis Smiley’s sharp criticism of the President . Economics, Cooper writes, remains at the forefront of black voter concerns: “The question now for the Obama campaign is whether it can energize those voters[…] even with a rate of joblessness among blacks that far exceeds national figures.”
